WELCOME TO THE SUMMER TERM IN BELTON CLASS

Welcome back to the second and final half of the Summer Term or Term 6. We hope you had a lovely half term and enjoyed some sunshine with family and friends.

Knowledge Organisers will be available for both our theme and for core subjects.  Please do encourage your child to regularly review these at home - it is important that they all learn and understand this knowledge and have further opportunity to discuss it with you at home as will help them to be able to verbalise the knowledge they are learning.

We will still be keeping parents up to date with our learning developments and giving general messages and reminders out on Class Dojo so do remember to check in frequently. We are still occasionally setting independent learning (homework) using SeeSaw so don't get rid of your App for this.

In Term 6 Belton Class will still be taught by Mrs Jagger and Mrs Griffin who will be teaching on the following days:

  • Monday - Mrs Jagger

  • Tuesday - Mrs Jagger

  • Wednesday morning - Mrs Jagger

  • Wednesday afternoon - Mrs Griffin

  • Thursday - Mrs Griffin

  • Friday - Mrs Griffin

This term our topic is 'Oh we do like to be beside the seaside' .  We will be reading non-fiction books about sea-life  and writing factual reports as well as exploring stories linked to the sea leading onto writing postcards in role. In Art we will further develop our clay skills by making sea creatures and create seaside scenes based on those by Natalie Pascoe. As historians we will discover many changes over the years of the seaside and British holidays. We will also make comparisons to beaches in the UK and beaches abroad.

There may be slight adjustments and changes to plans or activities - responding to any changes that may arise.

Reading remains incredibly important; please can you hear your child read 4 times a week. Your child will still gain DOJO points and perhaps a silver or gold certificate for their hard work this term.

If you have any problems at all, please get in touch.
