WELCOME TO SUMMER TERM 1

Welcome back to Term 5 in Belton. We hope you had a fantastic Easter break filled with lots of fun and memories made!

Our theme this term is 'Traditional Tales'. We have been planning lots of exciting lessons and activities for Year One. Knowledge Organisers will be available for both our theme and for core subjects  sent out on Dojo. These are a really useful tool to find out what the children are learning alongside the 'Theme plan' for parents attached further down.  Please do encourage your child to regularly review these at home - it is important that they all learn and understand this knowledge and have further opportunity to discuss it with you at home as will help them to be able to verbalise the knowledge they are learning. If you require a printout provided for you - just let us know!

Our KIRF for Maths this term is attached below. The children are really enjoying the songs. We are also working on counting in 2s, 5s!

We will be keeping parents up to date with our learning developments and giving general messages and reminders out on Class Dojo so do remember to check in frequently. 

Belton Class will be taught by Mrs Jagger and Mrs Griffin who will be teaching on the following days: 

• Monday - Mrs Jagger

• Tuesday - Mrs Jagger

• Wednesday morning - Mrs Jagger

• Wednesday afternoon - Mrs Want

• Thursday - Mrs Griffin

• Friday - Mrs Griffin

Phonics and Reading are a big focus in Year One, we ask that you read with your child at least 4 times a week and record these in their reading record. Our weekly E-book (Thursday-Thursday) is a crucial part of their reading journey, so please remember to go online to access these and the quizzes. Dojos are awarded for completion of these.
