Term Dates & School Day

Term Dates for this academic year (2023-24) can be found below. Dates for 24-25 are available using the menu on the left. It is important that parents/carers take note of term dates as holidays taken during term time will not be authorised and each parent/carer may receive a fixed penalty notice from the Local Authority for each child absent from school for this reason.  For further details of attendance procedures please view the policy in 'Our School' section.  Absence from school, other than sickness, must be approved in writing by the Headteacher - you can request a form to ask for consideration of pre-planned absence from the school office. Medical appointments should be made outside of school hours where possible, although we appreciate this is often out of a parent/carer control.

End of Day

Maths and English are predominantly taught in Sessions 1, 2 & 3 which are optimal learning times.

As staff cannot take responsibility for the safety of children before or after school hours, the children should not be on the school premises unaccompanied before 8:50 am or after 3:35 pm, unless specific requests have been made, or the child is taking part in an after-school activity. We appreciate your consideration and support.

The total weekly figure for the compulsory time pupils spend in school is 32.5 hours as per Government guidelines.

We strongly encourage all children to come in to the school independently in the mornings, where they will be met by school staff at the gates and designated classroom entrances.
